Legit

Is Legit to honest?

New comedy starring Jim Jefferies as a comedian thinking of going “Legit” and getting a proper job, whatever that is these days. It’s nice and refreshing to see that this has actually been made in these PC times as the first episode focuses on getting his disable friend, played by DJ Qualls, laid. I say bring on the honesty I doubt fans of Jim Jefferies will be disappointed and fans of a more down to earth comedy wont be either. It feels like it fills a hole left when My Name is Earl was cancelled and not fully filled by Raising Hope. Its the antidote to The New Normal that I for one having been waiting for and can’t wait for more episodes.

The Carrie Diaries

Or “Under Age Sex and the City”

After all the hype surrounding the prequel to “Sex and the City” you have to question what audience it is going for. Although I might not be, definitely not be the demographic that they are looking for I don’t know who they are looking for. It centers on Carrie Bradshaw in her younger years but cant help but feel they went back too many years, as it seems to be based around her teen years and bearing in mind the content and topic of the previous series/books that it is based on I cant help but think it being set in her late teens and early twenties would have been a wiser choice. Although at points it does feel like “Sex and the City” I feel fans of the previous series will be disappointed as it lacks is predecessors sophistication. It might be too early to right it off but if the first episode is to go by rather then being something that looks into the intricacies of modern relationships (when “Sex and the City” was first released it was modern and relevant) it is in danger of being something just pumped out to try to catch the teenage and/or the tween audience and wont live up to it’s promise. Which is a shame because even if you were a boyfriend forced to watch the original it wasn’t that bad and certain moments you could enjoy but fear that it could just become another Gilmore Girls or Gossip Girl. The only element that might win over the previous audience is the fact that it’s set in the 80’s which will give it that nostalgia quality.

Verdict: We will have to wait and see what it becomes
